Aloha and Welcome to the Kula Catholic Community

Three churches serve the needs of parishioners in upcountry Maui in Hawaii. Our parish office and rectory are located at Our Lady Queen of the Angels in Keokea, Maui. Our pastor, Fr. Clarence Zamora, also serves two recently restored mission churches:

Holy Ghost Mission in Waiakoa, and St. James the Less in Ulupalakua. We invite you to browse our site to learn more about our parish and its activities. Visitors are always welcome at our masses, and we encourage local residents who do not have a church or have been estranged from the church for any reason to join us in the celebration of mass at one of the times shown under "Mass Schedules".  Holy Ghost Mission, which is on both the State and Federal Registries of Historical Buildings, is also open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. to welcome visitors to view this beautiful and unique church.

A new RCIA (Roman Catholic Initiation for Adults) program will begin in September 2011. We also have an active Religious Education program for children from the ages of 4 to 18 that starts each year in September and runs through April. In addition we are eager to welcome back inactive Catholics who are interested in returning to the church. A program called "Welcoming Returning Catholics Home." is led by several lay ministers who will be happy to act as mentors.

OUR MISSION: We the parishioners of the Kula Roman Catholic Community, following our baptismal commitment and vocation as disciples of Jesus Christ, shall:

• Develop a personal and communal relationship with Almighty God, the Father, through Christ, the Son, guided and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
• Worship God wholeheartedly in the Liturgy and the Sacraments.
• Listen attentively to Him as He speaks to us daily in order to discern and carry out His will as did Jesus, Mary, and the Saints.
• Cooperate with all Christians to spread the Good News of Salvation by actively seeking opportunities to educate and form ourselves and others in the faith, by sharing our belief, our charisms, and our resources.
• Recognize that salvation cannot be attained in isolation and we shall create a Christian community by providing ample opportunities for people to bond socially and spiritually.
• Respect, appreciate, and support every human being, especially those in greatest need.
• Encourage participation through hospitality, collaboration, and the celebration of our cultural diversity and traditions.

To this end we dedicate the use of our unique gifts of time, talent, and treasure.
